A bike can help someone move from isolation to independence, supporting recovery from trauma while strengthening healthier, more connected communities.
Many people face barriers to mobility, work, health and connection — while thousands of bikes are discarded each year.
THE LIBERATION CYCLE regenerate bikes to empower people, strengthen communities and accelerate sustainability.
BIKES SAVED FROM LANDFILL
UNIQUE INDIVIDUALS SERVED
TONNES OF CO2e SAVED
Our partnership with Cambridge Cyrenians; a charity who provides accommodation, support and specialist services for homeless men and women in Cambridge.
THE LIBERATION CYCLE proudly supplements their support by providing bikes to our mutual beneficiaries - like AD receiving his bike.
He needed a bike to get to appointments and to job interviews; helping him get to where he wanted to be both physically and emotionally.
It heightened his independence as he could get around the city at no cost - without relying on public transport.
DONATIONS
We collect and receive pre-loved bikes from generous donors.
REPAIR & TRAINING
Our Chief Mechanic leads the servicing of these donations, training beneficiaries and volunteers to scale impact.
DISTRIBUTION
After passing a 20-point check and a test ride, serviced donations are then delivered to beneficiaries at no charge.
CONNECTION
After delivering their bike, we reconnect with beneficiaries to better understand how their bike has positively impact their lives.
"I really enjoy my volunteering at The Liberation Cycle. It’s so satisfying working on a bike knowing it’s going to somebody who needs it."
Alex - Volunteer
"My mechanic skills are getting better as Antonio is a skilled mechanic and teacher. It’s also a friendly atmosphere as we all chat while working on the bikes or over a coffee and biscuit.”
Barry - Volunteer
"Thank you so much for all of your support this past year - it has meant so much to us all here, staff, volunteers and residents!"

COMMUNITY SATISFACTION
Scaling up is about connecting with more people who need us. We are looking for passionate volunteers to join our community and help us widen our circle of care. Let's build something bigger, together.
